MAS Bay Area helps at the 2nd Annual Human Dignity Day

Human Dignity Day for the Homeless was started last year in San Jose by the SBIA. It is an event in which Muslims from all over the Bay Area come to the Salvation Army on 405 N 4th Street in Downtown San Jose to serve over 1000 homeless.

This year hot meals, canned goods, hygiene packs, and rain gear were served throughout the day from 9 am - 3 pm. Brand new toys were also given to homeless children. Seeing the smiles on their faces brought tears to some volunteers. All those who came through to get their hot meals and supplies were sincerely moved that Muslims came out to serve them and greatly appreciated all that they received. This was a great da'wah opportunity in the blessed month of Ramadan, and we hope that through serving those less fortunate, the message of Islam was conveyed, and we ask Allah (swt) to accept all our deeds.

This event was sponsored by many organizations, such as Rahima Foundation, AMV, CAIR, MCA, and others.
