Objectives

To develop God-centric, community service oriented, holistic young adults, through the teachings of the Qur’an and the prophetic tradition.

Baseline schedule

  1. Weekly Qur’an.

  2. Weekly one of (Seerah, stories, Hadith).

  3. Quarterly group service activity (volunteering etc).

  4. Monthly holistic development (financial teaching, communication, societal involvement).

  5. Monthly physical activity.

Example Weekly Session

  1. Read one page of the Quran as a group and talk about the translation/tafseer.

  2. Talk about a section of the Seerah (Battle of Uhud, Conquest of Makkah, etc.) for 25 minutes.

  3. Have prepared Questions/Answers with a small prize for the one who gets it the most right.

  4. Have one of the kids lead a 10 minute physical activity (Push ups, tag, etc.)

Example of a Monthly Session

Mentorship session where we bring in a muslim professional/speaker that can have an open dialog of what they do, lessons they learned from their experiences. How they have to navigate the workforce as a muslim and advice that they can give the students.

Outcomes

  1. God-Centric Learner - Understanding of the religion through knowledge and complements it through actions.

  2. Service oriented - Allocates time to serve his neighborhood, community; works well within a team.

  3. Holistic - Takes care of health, time, finances, family, work, finances, society, based on what islam teaches.

Measure of Success

  1. Bi-annual evaluations of knowledge learned and community involvement.

  2. Creating leaders who are able to be facilitators to lead other groups.

Curriculum and Sources

  1. Quran Sessions: Quran, Clear quran, Tafseer Ibn Katheer.

  2. Seerah Session: The Sirah of the Prophet (pbuh) by Yasir Qadhi book.

  3. Lessons of the sahabah (The companions): Men and women around the messenger.

  4. Hadith: 40 Ahadith by Imam al Nawawi.
